Eat, Sleep, Jump, Repeat
Fear is just a line, as soon as you go beyond it, it’s not there anymore.
Do you recognize any of these sentences? Either in your head, or even saying it out loud?
“I can’t do it”
“People will think I’m crazy”
“Everyone else can do this better than I can”
“I know it’s awesome, but who’s gonna believe me?”
I can assure you that I do. It stopped me for so long…
It’s called fear. And we all have it. It’s fear of what’s beyond our comfort zone. Fear of the unknown.
The past year I’ve been trained by Nisandeh and Vered to continue their work. Not trained…that doesn’t cover it… drilled.
I learned how to create newsletters and blogs, how to get you involved, how to get people to an event… how to deal with numbers in a company, how to deal with those of you that didn’t pay what we agreed upon while keeping the relationship healthy…how to make my own choices and how to take responsibility.
All of that.
But the best lesson?
How to handle fear.
I was scared of opinions of others. Of making mistakes. Of giving feedback to Nisandeh on a blog post. Of sending Vered videos of my performance as a trainer because I thought she would never want to work with me. I was afraid of disappointing them.
I worked on a lot of these fears. I went through it and conquered them, and I can assure you, it wasn’t funny.
And in the meantime, I also overcame my fear of spiders, dark and small spaces, and hugging. Yep. I worked with Nisandeh and Vered and I was afraid of hugging. Can you imagine.
Now, this blog post is about fear, because I am at the beginning of a new journey, and again, I am scared shit.
I’m afraid I will fail.
I’m afraid of what you will think.
I’m afraid I will disappoint you, or Nisandeh, or myself.
So, I step over the line, I am sending you this blog, and I’m going for it.
And I’m pretty sure, at the beginning of a new year, that I’m not the only one that’s scared… that you are scared, too.
If you can’t think of anything that scares you… ask yourself if you allow yourself to grow. Because if there is nothing to be afraid of, you will stay inside your comfort zone.
What’s frightening you? What fear blocks you from growing, from being the best version of you?
I know it’s scary.. but write it down below, and come back here…
Well… that wasn’t that bad after all, was it? You can be so proud of yourself… because this is a major step… you accepted your fear.
And this is the first step in conquering fear. Embrace it. It’s yours. And it’s nothing to be ashamed of.
Decide that you are stronger than your fear. Decide that it’s time for your fear to no longer withhold you from fulfilling your potential. Because that’s what fear does, you know. And it’s just a line… as soon as you cross it, it’s not there anymore….
Find somebody to kick your ass. Tell someone what you are planning to do that scares you. If you tell others, it’s a commitment. And find someone that won’t allow you to chicken out.
Nisandeh did that for me in the past year. I cried my eyes out of frustration and fear (not with him obviously, he told me from the start to keep my tears for the bedroom) and it hurt. But he pushed me beyond any limit and he made me grow. And I’m eternally grateful for it.
Find someone that loves you enough to dare to push you beyond your limits, beyond all your objections.
And then… breathe in, and breathe out.
You can do it.
Dare to share your fear in the comment box below, and I will send you an intimate, never published, behind the scenes video of Nisandeh talking about his fears.
Live fully, be awesome,
PS I’d love to continue sharing Nisandeh’s lessons and wisdom with you.
